New Super-Post Panamax Cranes Arrive at Port Houston - 2017
November 9, 2017
In October, we were pleased to announce the arrival of our three newest super post-Panamax container cranes at Barbours Cut. With the demand for more cargo transporting through the Gulf Coast, these cranes are a giant step to Port Houston's strategic path to growth. The cranes are also one part of a $700 million modernization project program to increase cargo-handling efficiency and capacity.
Port Houston personnel will be training on the new equipment for another month or two so that we are READY to take our operations to the next level to continue to provide top quality customer service.
Considerable improvements and investments are being made at the port terminals as we strategically prepare to focus on the future of the Houston Ship Channel so that our port continues to remain an economic engine to the region and state.
