Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital recognized as top performer by Vizient

For the fourth consecutive year, Houston Methodist Baytown has been recognized as a top performer in the 2024 Bernard A. Birnbaum, MD, Quality Leadership annual rankings by Vizient Inc, which provides a national hospital scorecard focused on safety and quality metrics. This year, Houston Methodist Baytown secured the No. 3 top performer position out of 204 complex care medical centers, highlighting the hospital’s dedication to delivering exceptional health care services.

Vizient evaluates hospitals across six crucial domains including safety, mortality, effectiveness, efficiency, patient-centeredness and equity. The study factors in measures from the Vizient Clinical Data Base and includes performance data from the HCAHPS survey and the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network for a period spanning July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024. This ranking reflects Houston Methodist Baytown’s exceptional performance in these areas, underscoring its commitment to providing top-notch patient care.
All seven acute care Houston Methodist hospitals were recognized by Vizient for their superior level of care:
• Comprehensive Academic Medical Centers – Houston Methodist Hospital ranked No. 4 out of 115 hospitals
• Large, Specialized Complex Care Medical Centers – Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital ranked No. 2 out of 177 hospitals
• Complex Care Medical Centers (ranking out of 204 hospitals)
• Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital ranked No. 1
• Houston Methodist West Hospital ranked No. 2
• Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital ranked No. 3
• Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital ranked No. 4
• Community Hospitals – Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital ranked No. 14 out of 364 hospitals
